Kimani Jackson is a singer, actor and dancer based in Brooklyn, New York. He recently released a new album called Icebreaker.
Task
Kimani and his team came to Looma to create the key art and a series of materials for the album’s ad campaign.
Finding the idea
Learning more about Kimani and watching his stunning performances, we realised his voice is so powerful it could literally break the ice and melt hearts. That became the main image: Kimani breaking out of an ice trap using only his voice. It also stands for the album release, with which Kimani is ready to break out onto the music scene.
The project covered visual concepts, photo shoot supervision and post-production.
“For us it was a really interesting experience of working with colleagues from the US. The project wasn’t typical, but it was very exciting. We overcame the time difference, learned to find common ground and supervised the shoot from thousands of kilometres away. Entertainment marketing is a wide field abroad, and we plan to explore it further.”
